What can you expect from the 2023 iterations of the Chevy Silverado light-duty and heavy-duty models? Some features include a new off-road option, the ability to enjoy more power from a revamped diesel powertrain offering, and all of the great utility, comfort, and safety features you’ve come to expect from the Silverado. The best part about it is that there is no wait for the 2023 Silverado, and you can order yours right now here at Raceway Chevrolet.

All-New Chevy Silverado ZR2 Bison
The 2022 Chevy Silverado introduced the exhilarating new off-road ZR2 trim. This upgraded option gave the Silverado a lot more off-road capability and made it quite the competitor in the high-performance arena. Following up on that advancement, Chevy has introduced an all-new variant of the ZR2 for the 2023 model year. This new variant is called the ZR2 Bison, and it comes with some fresh new features that are bound to get off-road enthusiasts racing to our showroom to find out if there is a Chevy Silverado for sale with the ZR2 Bison option available.
This special edition of the Silverado features a number of new implementations made in collaboration with American Expedition Vehicles (AEV). This includes all-new custom stamped-steel front and rear bumpers with AEV badging, step pads, and a winch attachment point. The ZR2 Bison is also equipped with gloss black AEV wheels and 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires designed to conquer all sorts of off-road terrain, from dirt and mud to rocks and hills.
The ZR2 Bison also comes packed with a unique set of skid plates, providing extra protection to the undercarriage of the Silverado. You will definitely appreciate that protection as you traverse undulating terrain. However, scraping the skid plates is unlikely, thanks to the 11.2 inches of ground clearance, which enables an increased approach angle of 32.5 degrees, and an improved departure angle of 23.4 degrees. All that rock crawling and hill climbing can lead to the frame rails potentially being damaged from impacts, but with the rocker guards in place, you don’t have to worry about that.
Like the standard ZR2 trim, the ZR2 Bison has a 6.2-liter V8 engine. There’s also the inclusion of Multimatic DSSV spool-valve dampers, front and rear electronically locking differentials, and an off-road-tuned suspension. All these features help elevate the ZR2 Bison to the next level. Combined with the new features and improvements, the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2 Bison is the perfect companion for off-road enthusiasts.
More Power With the 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel
Not everyone is thrilled about traveling off-road. Some people get their kicks towing and hauling in a reliable half-ton pickup. For them, the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 continues to maintain its presence on the market as the go-to solution for those who need a light-duty pickup powered by an exceptional turbo-diesel engine. However, durability and reliability based on old standards isn’t how Chevy rolls. The company decided to elevate the Duramax turbo-diesel’s capabilities above the expected and established standards.
New for the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 is an improved 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder Duramax turbo-diesel engine. The previous model year ran with 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. For the 2023 model year, Chevy has increased the total horsepower by 10%, while the torque has been buffed by 8%. The new ratings for the 3.0-liter Duramax are 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque, making the Duramax more capable than ever before for towing and trailering.
The new buff is thanks to an overhaul that has taken place within the block. This includes all-new steel pistons with a completely revised combustion bowl. The engineers also implemented new fuel injectors and a retuned turbo compressor. With improved temperature control features, the Duramax has been able to hit its new peak performance ratings, making it more efficient at various light-duty trucking tasks than ever before. You can get the new 3.0-liter Duramax with every trim except for the WT, Custom, and ZR2.

Reliable Functionality for the 2023 Silverado HD
The Silverado 2500 HD and 3500 HD have remained unchanged since the 2022 model year outing. However, Chevy did maintain the reliability and functionality that the heavy-duty line of Silverado pickup trucks have been known for when it comes to towing, trailering, and payload capacity. That means a carryover of many great features from the 2022 model year, such as the available powertrains that include the 6.6-liter V8 gas engine and the 6.6-liter Duramax turbo-diesel.
The 2023 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD is capable of trailering up to 18,510 lbs, while the 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD can handle up to 36,000 lbs. This gives you a lot of leeway and versatility when it comes to what you can tow. The availability of the Silverado 2500 HD in multiple configurations, including long and standard beds, and in rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive formats adds a lot to its repertoire. The 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD can utilize dual-rear-wheel configurations in addition to being available in multiple cab formats and having the option of a long or standard bed.
The trim line-up for the 2023 Chevy Silverado HD series has stayed the same as the 2022 model year, which includes the base WT trim, the Custom, the LT, the LTZ, and the High Country. Depending on the trim, you also have access to up to nine different colors with the 2023 Silverado HD series. Additionally, there is a carryover from the 2022 model year when it comes to the tailgate, allowing you to configure any trim with Multi-Flex Tailgate, which comes with six different tailgate functionalities.
