As your Allentown Chevy dealer, we strive to innovate with the exact spirit that Chevy itself has had since its very beginning. You might not be aware of the full history of the brand itself or just how much innovation it has brought to the automotive world, but at Raceway Chevy, we feel this is important to capture in everything we do. The Chevy brand is a pioneer in the automotive world that has created famous models like the Impala, Corvette, and Silverado. Models like the Suburban have been gracing people's driveways for almost a century now with no signs of stopping. We take inspiration from these achievements and created programs that no other dealership offers and truly put our customers first.
Before we get into how our dealership is innovating the car buying experience, let's discuss the history of the Chevy company from its humble beginnings.
William Durant Began General Motors in 1908. One year later, he tried to buy Ford Motor Company from Henry Ford, but the banks at the time were concerned about funding the then-fledgling world of automotive pursuits. Durant failed to secure the money needed to purchase Ford, and as the economy took a downturn in 1910, the board of directors forced Durant to step down.
Fresh from this failure, he tapped Louis Chevrolet, a former Buick racing driver, to head his own shop in Detroit in 1911. Durant traveled to Flint, Michigan, and bought the failing Flint Wagon Works, and using help from former Buick engine designer Arthur C. Morgan, started the Little Car Company. While Louis’ shop in Detroit focused on making large luxury cars, Durant used Little to make cars to compete with Ford, all under the umbrella brand name of Chevrolet.
The first car to actually be branded as a “Chevrolet” was the Classic Six, introduced in 1912. Supposedly, the famous bow tie emblem came from a bit of wallpaper Durant found in a hotel room while vacationing in France during the company's early days. Durant began to buy up GM stock, and on September 15th, 1915, he regained control of General Motors. In December of that same year, just two days before Christmas, Chevrolet actually bought General Motors as a company. While the name didn’t change, Chevrolet was slotted into the brand ladder with them being just above Potanic but below Oldsmobile, Buick, and Cadillac in that order.
Chevrolet has remained in that spot ever since, and while other GM brands have come and gone, they have always remained a steadfast companion to the American people looking for a quality car or truck at an agreeable price.
At Raceway Chevy, we are committed to giving you the best car buying experience possible. Many dealerships make that claim, but we have some things that set us apart from the rest of the competition. We offer a Free Tires For Life program where we will cover the cost of a brand new set of four tires when your old ones wear out. We offer up to $150 per tire! That’s peace of mind worth up to six hundred dollars, and you can’t get that just anywhere!
We also offer our exclusive Lifetime Powertrain Warranty, where we will cover the cost of repairs made to any component of the drivetrain for the life of the vehicle. This can include repairs to the engine, transmission, and drive axle. If you bring your car in for service and you would like to be somewhere within ten miles of the dealership, our complimentary shuttle service will make that happen.
In addition to our other unique programs, we offer complimentary loaner vehicles if your warranty-covered repair takes longer than 24 hours or if parts do not arrive on time. If you are sticking around at the dealership, why not grab a coffee and enjoy the use of our high-speed Wi-Fi. Kids can have a ball in their own special section of the waiting room. Our waiting area features comfortable chairs and a flat-screen TV with a nice selection of magazines and newspapers. You can relax and know that your car or truck is in good hands from start to finish. At Raceway Chevy, we are determined to make sure you finish first!
We offer new, used, and certified pre-owned Chevy models at our dealership, including a selection of cars under fifteen thousand dollars. If you are looking for something else, we offer a selection of used models from a wide range of manufacturers. At Raceway Chevy, we understand that your time and money matter, so we strive to offer you a selection that meets your needs.
If a new or used Chevy is what you are interested in, you can find popular crossovers like the Trax and Trailblazer. For those looking for something larger, a Suburban or Tahoe might fit your lifestyle. Got a need for speed? We offer the ever-popular Corvette and Camaro. If basic transportation is more your speed, that's no trouble at all, as the Spark, Malibu, Sonic, and Impala will be there, ready for you. If you’re planning on going electric, we’ve got just what you need with the Chevy Bolt EV. Wanting a truck? Look no further than the Colorado and Silverado. If you want something a little more unique, our dealership offered SCA-certified lifted performance trucks. No matter what you want, our inventory is sure to satisfy.
