End Of Lease Turn-In – Bethlehem, PA

Leasing a car, truck, or SUV can be a great way to have a new vehicle without worrying about maintenance or depreciation. However, there are some differences between leasing a car and buying a car. The biggest one is, of course, that you will have to return the leased vehicle when the lease ends. This is not a bad thing - after all, it means you are getting a new car again - but it does mean there are a few things you need to keep in mind and do differently than you would if you were selling or trading in a vehicle that you owned. However, here at Raceway Chevrolet, we do our best to make leasing a simple experience from choosing a car all the way to your end of lease turn-in. And if you have any questions about your leased car, truck, or SUV, do not hesitate to contact us for more information.

What Do I Do at the End of My Lease?

When your car lease comes to an end, the first thing you will have to do is return the leased vehicle to us. While you can just drive here and drop it off, you should first conduct a lease turn-in walk around and restore your leased vehicle to its original condition, or you may end up paying some additional fees (see the next section for some more details on what you should do). However, it will help if you also consider what your next step will be after your end of lease turn-in. After all, you will probably still need a vehicle to get around and continue normally with your life.

The simplest option after the end of lease turn-in is to lease another vehicle from us. This can be a newer version of the model you just returned, or something entirely different. Maybe your needs have changed, or you want to try another type of vehicle - one of the greatest advantages of leasing is that you can make this choice without worrying about being stuck with a car you dislike. Leasing another vehicle from us after your end of lease turn-in can also allow you to avoid some of the fees we usually charge to cover the cost of handling a returned leased vehicle. Alternatively, you may have decided that leasing is not the best fit for your lifestyle. In this case, after your turn-in, you should take a look at the wide variety of new and used vehicles of all types offered for sale here at Raceway Chevrolet. Although you will not get a trade-in value for your leased vehicle, we do offer incentives to customers who are returning leased vehicles.

Finally, you have the unique option of choosing to purchase your own leased vehicle after your end of lease turn-in. This allows you to continue driving the same car that you know and love and effectively will enable you to purchase a new vehicle for the price of a used car. Choosing to purchase your own leased vehicle also means that you know that your “new” car is trouble-free and has been well maintained and allows you to continue using any accessories that you have already bought for it. But no matter which of these options you are considering for after your end of lease turn-in, Raceway Chevrolet is here to help you out. If you have any questions about what to do, contact us, and we can point you in the right direction.

What is a Lease Turn-In Walk-Around?

Before your end of lease turn-in, it is a good idea to inspect it yourself in what is known as a “lease turn-in walk-around.” Because you will be charged if you return your vehicle with damaged or missing components, taking some time to review the condition of your leased car, truck, or SUV and correct any issues can save you a lot of money. And do not worry, you do not have to be a mechanic to complete a proper lease turn-in walk-around - simply follow these easy steps, and you will be all ready for your end of lease turn-in after just a few minutes.

First, walk around your leased vehicle looking for any dents, scratches, or chipped paint. These are easy to catch and make up most of the damage we see. Check all the windows for chips or cracking (do not forget the moonroof if your vehicle has one). Also, make sure your vehicle has all four of its original wheels and tires of the correct type without excessive treadwear (check the spare as well if your vehicle came with one). While this may seem obvious, here in Pennsylvania, a lot of people forget to check and turn in their leased cars with snow tires or winter wheels. Once the outside inspection is complete, go over the interior and look for any cuts or stains to the upholstery. Finally, make sure all the accessories that came with your vehicle are present, including spare keys, floor mats, and the tire change kit. Once your lease turn-in walk-around is complete, the missing components located, and any significant damage has been repaired, you are all set for your end of lease turn-in.

Should I Lease or Should I Buy?

If you are reading this while trying to decide if you should lease a car, understand that leasing vs buying can be a complicated question, and there are many advocates of both options. Buying a car means that you own the vehicle outright and can treat it however you want, such as racking up high mileage or heavily modifying it. You can also sell it when you want to upgrade to something newer and get some money back. However, our lease terms are designed to work for the vast majority of drivers. A question we hear a lot is, "Can I accessorize my leased vehicle?" The answer is yes; you can. We will not penalize you for adding any approved accessories that do not harm the value of the vehicle. Most importantly, you will find that lease payments are far lower than the monthly payments for buying the same model, and you will never have to deal with maintaining an aging vehicle. So unless you are among the small number of people that put particularly high demands on their car, leasing can easily be the better option.

We know that shopping for a car, truck, or SUV is much more fun when you have the freedom to get exactly what you want. So we work with you to ensure you get the vehicle that is perfect for you. Our salespeople specialize in answering your questions and listening to what you need, rather than trying to push something onto you that is not right.

In addition to keeping a fantastic inventory on-hand, providing you with world-class customer service, and keeping you on the road with our expert service and maintenance, we also offer a number of special programs created to take your experience even further. Our Three-Step Referral Program

We want to provide you with the highest level of customer service possible to ensure you get the perfect vehicle and have an experience with us that is second-to-none. And we hope that after we do so, you will tell your friends and family and suggest they choose Raceway Chevy for their next vehicle. If you do, then you can take part in our Three-Step Referral Program. All you have to do is refer someone to Raceway Chevy and have them say you sent them when they meet with one of our salespeople. Then:

  • Step One: When your first referral buys a car, you get $200 from us.
  • Step Two: When a second referral from you buys a car, then you get $300.
  • Step Three: When your third referral buys a car, you get $400 from us.

That is it. Send a friend or family member, make sure they tell us your name, and when they buy a car from us, we will give you money as a way to thank you for the referral.

Our Three-Day Buy Back Guarantee

When you buy or lease a new vehicle from us here at Raceway Chevy, you have three days and 300 miles to decide on if it is right for you. Take it to work, run some errands, and drive the kids around town – whatever you need to do, do it. If, within the first three days and 300 miles, you decide it is not right, for any reason, then bring it back and we will buy it back – easy as that.

Raceway Chevy Lifetime Powertrain Warranty

Our new vehicles are not only covered by the incredible standard Chevy warranty coverage (more on that below), but we also provide our own, exclusive Raceway Chevy Lifetime Powertrain Warranty. All you have to do is follow the manufacturer recommended maintenance on your vehicle on schedule here at Raceway Chevy or another certified Chevy service location. Then, come to us every five years for a complimentary powertrain inspection just so we can make sure your vehicle is in peak condition.

As long as you do these things, you have lifetime coverage on your powertrain, including your transmission, engine block, and drive axle. At most, you will only ever pay a $100 deductible for service on your powertrain, and we provide this coverage completely free to you.
Raceway Chevy Free Tires for Life Program

In addition to covering your powertrain with our lifetime warranty, we will also help you out with our Free Tires for Life program. As long as you follow the manufacturer's recommended schedule for maintenance, we will cover up to $150 per tire any time you need replacement tires due to normal wear for your vehicle. That is up to $600 total coverage to help pay for your tires, keeping you on the road and looking great.

That is why we provide a complimentary shuttle service for you when you need scheduled maintenance, and we offer complimentary loaner vehicles. If the service you need to be done will take more than 24 hours, or we are waiting for parts to arrive, we will provide you with a free loaner car, so your life does not have to hit the brakes just because you need some repairs.

Incredible Chevy Warranty Protection

While we offer our own warranty coverage and protection on most vehicles we sell, our new Chevy models offered for purchase or on a lease are also covered by Chevy’s world-class warranty protection. The Chevy Warranty includes:

  • Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty – 3 years or 36,000 miles of full coverage.
  • Powertrain Limited Warranty – 5 years or 60,000 miles of powertrain coverage.
  • Electric and Hybrid Warranty – 8 years or 100,000 miles of component coverage on electric and hybrid vehicles.
  • Free first maintenance within the first year and 12,000 miles.

The Chevy Powertrain Limited Warranty and Electric or Hybrid Warranty also includes membership in a 24-hour Roadside Assistance Program. This includes emergency towing, lockout service, flat tire changes, and much more. So you can drive with peace of mind, knowing that if an unexpected disaster occurs, you will be protected.
